The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree,
He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
Those who are planted in the house of the Lord
Shall flourish in the courts of our God.
They shall still bear fruit in old age;
They shall be fresh and flourishing, Psalm 92:12-14 NKJV
Palm trees bend. They rarely break. Palms are incredibly flexible. Their top branches nearly touch the ground during the worst of storms.
Cedar trees grow huge and strong. Their wood is highly prized and exceptionally durable. The cedar is widely praised in scripture. Both Kings David and Solomon used it to build their palaces. Cedar was used to construct the Holy Temple.
When we are planted in God, we become strong, mighty and capable of withstanding our storms.
In God, we are fruitful.
Not just busy, but productive well past what others would consider our “prime.” Despite outward appearances, we can flourish because God is not subject to natural laws. God can cause us to grow, succeed, thrive and prosper!
Sarah and Abraham who were nearly dead, conceived their promised child. David’s faith elevated him to warrior and king when others viewed him as a mere shepherd boy.
God allowed them to flourish.
And we can too!
This is a great post Lilka! We can be used and blessed by the Lord at any time of His choosing. This is a great reminder of that fact! Have a great weekend…
